Annual Book Sale

stay tuned for May 2018 dates!

The Friends’ Annual Book Sale has provided substantial funds for the Library for years!  Bring your gently used books to the Library anytime during open hours. No textbooks or encyclopedias, please.
We seek volunteers to set-up, take donations, and clean-up. FMI: Jenifer Austin 384-6202

Annual Fund Drive

The Friends of South Berwick Library conducts an Annual Fund Drive in the fall for support of the Library and its programs. Now that we have a big and beautiful space, there are expanded opportunities for the Friends of the Library to support services and programs. The Friends will continue to raise money to help sustain a full-service Library.

A yearly donation to the Friends’ Annual Fund Drive will help us provide equipment, services and programs to enhance the offerings of our Library.

Please help make our Library a true information commons – the multi-generational heart of our community – with your contribution today to the Friends of South Berwick Library!Donate Now Button

Ebay Sales

sally hunter ebayWho would think that over $23,000 could have been raised from donations of items “smaller than a breadbox”? That is what has happened since 2010 and was a major contributor to the Building Fund for the new library. Now proceeds go to supporting programs at the Library.

The Capital Campaign Committee is extremely grateful for the time and efforts of the eBay Committee.  What started as a $5,000 goal turned into a $10,000, $15,000, then $20,000 goal! They had momentum, and just wanted to keep going: gathering, listing, and shipping items to customers all over the world. Boundless thanks to Sally Hunter, Charlene Belliveau, and Janet Gaudette, Friends in deed!!

If you are interested in donating to the eBay fundraiser, please contact Sally Hunter, pictured here.

Strawberry Festival

SF_2015_04The Friends are always at the Strawberry Festival!  We provide information about Library Programs, hold a face painting fundraiser, and ask visitors to take a guess at “how many jellybeans are in the jar” to win a free book!

We seek volunteers for two-hour stints to represent the Friends at our booth, and volunteers to support the Strawberry Festival Committee with bucket washing (Thursday evening), hulling (Friday morning), shortcake slicing (first thing Saturday morning).
